New Acquisitions at the AG South Australia

New acquisitions in art galleries often cause debate, sometimes passionate, sometimes bored.  I find the exhibition of these purchases and gifts do no justice to any works mostly because they look like a badly curated group show where nothing matches and no work complements any other.

What I really did like at the AGSA is the new Melrose Wing of European Art - they've mixed up their collection and based it on theme rather than era and made a fabulous salon-style display through 6  rooms with fun gems like this:
